Tony Eric Smith, 67, of 1419 Highland Avenue, Albemarle, North Carolina passed away on June 9, 2010 at Harris Hospice House in Charlotte, North Carolina.
He was born April 8, 1943 in Stanly County, North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his father, Mallie Harding Smith, and his mother, Mabeth Allene Simmons Smith.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Congregational Christian Church. He loved Single Action Shooting Society competition and drag racing.
He is survived by his two sons, Jonathan Eric Smith and wife Tema of Albemarle and Christopher Noel Smith and wife Brandy of Richfield; four grandchildren, Mallary, Cole, Bailey, and Ty; one brother, Barry Dale Smith of Guam; and one sister, Beth Smith of Salisbury.
Visitation will be Friday, June 11, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel with Reverend Joe Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Albemarle.
