Sunday Marie Abbondi, 84, of Kennett Square, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester.
She was the beloved wife of Fred A. Abbondi Jr., with whom she shared 61 years of marriage.
Born in West Grove, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Nancy Garone DiFilippo.
Mrs. Abbondi was head teller for more than 20 years at the former National Bank of Kennett Square, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Kennett Square.
Mrs. Abbondi enjoyed playing and watching golf, fishing, playing cards with her friends, cooking, reading and sewing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Richard A. Abbondi and Sandi Leone of West Grove; a daughter, Carol A. Danaher and her husband, Bill, of Roseville, Calif.; a brother, Louis DiFilippo and his wife, Nancy, of Kennett Square; a sister, Nancy Kimble and husband, Bob, of Roswell, Ga.; a grandson, Sean Danaher; and by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 14, at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Church, 8910 Gap Newport Pike (Route 41), Avondale.
Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Kennett Square.
