FRANKLIN Avie Phillips Franklin, 78, of Severna Park, Md., and previously of Richmond, died March 27, 2007, after a lengthy illness. She had an extensive nursing career in Richmond. Surviving are one son, James Pickeral of Richmond; and two daughters, Joanne Taylor of Severna Park, Md., and Sarah Pickeral of Baltimore, Md.; three sisters, Dorothy Egelhoff of Richmond, Anne Venable of Lynchburg, and Jean Huffman of Newport News; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at Salem Methodist Church, Evinston, Va.
