Hedwig M. Impress, 91, formerly of East Fourth Street, died Monday (July 24, 2006) in Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg, following an eight month stay at the home of her son, Gary Signor.

Born Feb. 17, 1915 in DuBois, she was a daughter of Joseph and Magdalin Deko Frano. In 1938, she married Charles Signor who died in 1941. On March 1, 1944, she married Dr. John Impress, who died in 1985.

A longtime resident of Emporium, Mrs. Impress was a parishioner of St. Mark Catholic Church in Emporium. She was also a charter member of Emporium Country Club, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Emporium Country Club.

Survivors include her son, Gary Signor of Harrisburg; a daughter, Susan Mianulli of Groton, Mass.; Five granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Joseph Frano of DuBois; two nephews; and one niece.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mark Church with Rev. Paul Siebert, pastor, as celebrant. Committal Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Eulalia Cemetery, Coudersport.
