MRS. RUTH ELLIOTT
Willie Ruth Grace, daughter
of Wm. R. and Delia Grace
was born on July 25, 1897 at
Ellis Prairie, Mo,, and died
July 30, 1966 at her home in
Cabool at age 69years, five
days.
As a young girl she attended
school and later college, and
t a u g h t at various schools
throughout the area for years,
also having served on the
County Board of Education.
Virtually all her life with the
exception of a few years was
spent in Texas County. On
June 25, 1940 in Lawrence,
Kan., she was married to Dan
Elliott. For many years they
resided in the Impo community
where she served as postmistress
for 12 years. Several times she
served as a member of the
Crippled Children's campaign
and was active in other affairs.
Due to ill health she retired.
In October 1965 they moved to
Cabool. She was a member of
the South Side Baptist Church
of Mtn. Grove and a member
of the Eastern Star chapter at
Carthage, Mo.
She is survived by her husband,
Dan; one stepdaughter,
Joy Elliott, Atlanta, Ga.; three
brothers, Roy Grace, George
Grace and Ebb Grace, all of
Garden Grove, Calif. ; one sister,
Mrs. Vesta Christmas,
Pueblo, Colo., and one grandson,
David E., Overland Park,
Kan., who made his home with
them for many years.
Funeral services were held
Monday in the Elliott-Gentry
Chapel at Cabool with the Rev.
CD. O'Neilofficiating. Burial
was in the Pine Lawn cemetery
at Houston.
