Laverne Qualls 82, of 216 McMurtry Dr. Henderson, IL, died at 10:40 PM Tuesday January 1, 2002 at Galesburg Terrace, Galesburg, IL.
He was born on November 21, 1919 in Gorham IL to Amos and Lucivia (Kimsey) Qualls. He married Mary T. Macri in Medford MA on January 13, 1946. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, David Qualls of Galesburg, IL, James Qualls of Rio, IL and Verne Qualls of Bettendorf, IA, three daughters, Regina Foster of Davenport, IA, Mary Jones of Lewiston, ID and Judy Qualls of Galesburg, IL, three sisters, Regina Butler of Red Bud, IL, Alberta M. McCloski of St. Louis, MO and Priscilla Morrison of Quincy, IL, 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.
He worked at Butler Manufacturing Company for 32 years, retiring December 31, 1982. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and served in the Air Force during World War II.
His funeral will be 10:00 AM Monday January 7, 2002 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with Rev. Ernest Pizzamiglio officiating. Burial will be in Henderson Cemetery, Henderson. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday January 6, 2002 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 4:00 PM. Memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary or Charity of the Donors Choice.
