BETHALTO - Naoma B. Bryant, 50, passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Friday, June 4, 2010, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, with her family by her side.

She was born on November 2, 1959, in Watseka, Illinois, the daughter of Marvin and Barbara (Gardner) Hemphill.

She married Mark A. Bryant on April 8, 1977, in Quincy, Illinois; he survives.

Naoma was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints in Litchfield, IL. She also was a member of the 912 Projects in Bethalto. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Wendy and Christopher Romick of Wood River, Eric and Tiffany Bryant of Chester, IL and Sarah and Anthony Javaux of Saint Ann, MO; three grandchildren, Jessica, Andy and Emma; nine siblings; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be on Monday, June 7, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Tracy Montgomery officiating.

Burial will follow at Alton National Cemetery in Alton.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
