Charles was the son of Charles Austin & Eliza Glynn Farnum Sr.,graduated Millington H.S. class of 1933 & lettered in sports. Married 1st Marcia Moberly & had 2 sons. After her death, he married 2nd Elaine Roussin & had 1 son, 1 dau..He was a U.S. Navy RESERVES VETERAN WW 11. He was a licensed pilot & certified flIGHT instructor. On the day of his death he was minutes into the air of qualifying a co-worker flying instructor to a brand new plane owned by the Burr's Airport they worked for. Seconds before the sound of the plane heard to be out of control & descending, people on the ground saw a propeller fall off the plane. The plane crashed into a field across the street from a church & Charles & the 2 other men were killed instantly. Age 49y 4m 3d . It was later determined the brand new plane was defective & a work related wrongful death was determined.
