The Daily Reporter Jan 2, 1963 - Dennison - Milas Brown, 88, of 713 Newport Ave Uhrichsville, was the first person received in emergency at Twin City Hospital in 1963. He was treated at 11:45 am Tues for a fractured wrist he received when he fell at home.

Born at Newport, TN, he was a son of the late James and Nancy Barnes Brown. His first wife, the former Isabelle Jenkins, died in 1939 and his second wife, the former Maude Irons, died in 1956. He was a retired clayworker and former Baptist minister. Affiliation: Baptist Church of Ethridge, TN.
Survivors: 5 daughters, Mrs. John Seiber of here, Mrs. Lewis Frazier and Mrs. Walter Shults of Leoma, TN, Mrs. JD Scott of Polasky, TN, and Mrs. WB Shults of Galliton, TN; 2 sons, Ransler of Center, CO, and Huston of Kokomo, IN; a brother, Larkin, of Cosby, TN; a sister, Mrs. Hester Messer of NC; 57 grandchildren and several ggrandchildren. Services: Wed at 3 pm in Uhrich-Hostettler Funeral Home with Rev Harry Milligan officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Tues from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.

He had been seriously ill for the past two months. In his early years in the ministry, he helped establish 10 churches in and around his hometown of Newport, TN. He was retired in Jan 1961, after 34 years of service as a rack maker with Evans Pipe Co. The oldest in a family of 11 children, he was born July 10, 1874 in Newport, TN, a son of James and Nancy Barnes Brown. A resident of Uhrichsville for the past 38 years, he was a member of the Baptist church in Ethridge, TN. He was married Nov 4, 1893 to Isabell Jenkins, who died Jan 18, 1939. His second wife, Maud Irons, to whom he was married June 28, 1948, died March 11, 1956. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Lewis (Rachel) Frazier and Mrs. Walter (Cora) Shults, both of Leoma, TN, Mrs. J.D. (Rebecca) Scott of Pulaski, TN, Mrs. WB (Eula) Shuts of Gallatin, TN, and Mrs. John (Mary) Seiber of Uhrichsville. Two sons, Ransler Brown of Center, CO and Huston Brown of Kokomo, IN; a brothr, Larkin Brown of Cosby, TN; a sister, Mrs. Hester Messer of NC; 57 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Eight brothers and sisters are deceased. Services will be Wed at 3 pm at the Uhrich-Hostettler Funeral Home with Rev Harry Milligan officiating. Burial will be in Union cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 Tuesday.
