On August 8th 1924 he told his mother if it was raining the next day he would head to America. He boarded the SS MOUNTROYAL in the Port of Glascow headed for Toronto. He had the clothes on his back and a 15"x9"x5" suitcase which is now full of geneology documentss. He meet Edna in Toronto and they married on August 18, 1926. Sam moved to Chicago on November 6, 1927 with Edna following a few weeks later. Sam was employed for many years in boiler maintenance at Wilson Meat in Chicago. He purchased his first car at the age of 60.
