Ben was the son of Samuel and Mary (Haise) Oyler; after his father's death he lived with John and Elizabeth Marsh in Morgan Township, Butler County; he married Mary Emma Clawson on Jan. 20, 1887 in Butler County, Ohio; he was the father of Lee Marsh Oyler and Russell C. Oyler.
