Martin G. Aleman, 87, of Lubbock departed this life on Monday, March 13, 2006 in Lubbock. He was born on Nov. 17, 1918 in Spur to the late Manuel and Antonia (Guajardo) Aleman.

Martin married Felicitas Hernandez on Sept. 11, 1943 in Taft. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lubbock and also a member of the Organization of the Guadalupanos at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Ralls. Martin was a retired farmer and former employee of the Lubbock I.S.D. He was preceded in death by his wife in January of this year and also a son, Michael Aleman.

He is survived by six sons, J.J. Aleman and wife Rosa ofLubbock, Chris Aleman and wife Sonia of Lubbock, Rudy Aleman and wife Nancy of Lubbock, Arnold Aleman and wife Martha of Lubbock, Martin Aleman Jr. and wife Tammy of Houston, and Johnny Manuel Aleman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three daughters, Lupe Torres and husband Jim of Lubbock, Cecilia Aguirre and husband Danny of Lubbock, and Sara Aleman Gaitan of Las Vegas, Nevada; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Consuelo Rodriquez, Sulema Aparicio and Amalia Aleman.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, March 17, 2006 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church with Father Jim O'Connor and Father Michael O'Dwyer officiating. Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 16, 2006 at White Memorial Chapel in Lubbock.
