Gladys Viola Patrick was born to the parents Lafayette and Lillie Ann 'West' Gorden on 12 June 1904 in Cherokee, Indian Territory. She married James Jacob Patrick in Colorado, March 29th 1934 in Littleton, Colorado. Of that union they had two sons Rodney James and Conrad. She had a step son by Jim's second marriage Mike Jerry Patrick. She lived most of her life in Colorado, at one time she decided to go to California with her family with Aunt 'Babe' and her family to see my Aunt Ada M and see if they liked living there. They really did not like California so both families came back to Colorado to live. Gladys was a devout Christian all of her life. She with her sister Zona went to Marylyn Hickeys Church in Denver, as did I. Years later I met Marylyn again in Omaha, Nebraska and said 'why yes I know them both, they helped me and my husband get a start in our Church (Happy Church)in down town Denver, they were both our prayer warriors'. One of her favorite things was to go fishing with her husband, sons and sometimes with her sister 'Babe' and her husband Rex when he was home on leave. She was a awesome cook. Gladys had one brother James and 4 sisters Arizona 'Zona', Ada M my Mom Rellen Helen and Zelpha Gertrude Vallentine (aka)'Babe'. Gladys passed in a Denver Hospital in Denver, Colorado on 16 Aug 1998 at the age of 74. She is truly missed by anyone that knew her. She had a such a loving and giving heart.

She was the youngest of her siblings to pass. Her husband Jim passed some seven years before leaving Gladys a widow.

Gladys is buried in the Golden Cemetery in Golden Colorado with her husband Jim and her mother Lillie Ann 'West' Gorden
