The Candler County native lived in Tattnall County for many years. He was a member of men's Sunday school class at Evergreen Baptist Church in Candler County. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Betty C. Green of Cobbtown; a son, George Green, Jr. of Cobbtown; three daughters, Mrs. Ann Aikens of Statesboro, Mrs. Joyce Lively of Collins and Mrs. Janice Harris of Manassas; two brothers, Sam Green of Manassas, Louis Green of Cobbtown; two sisters, Miss Lucille Green of Cobbtown and Mrs. Mary Youman of Savannah; and four grandchildren.
Funeral: 4 p.m. today at Evergreen Baptist Church, burial in church cemetery.
