THE PARIS NEWS, Wed. Jun. 1996, 6A: 'Donna Kathryn Adams, 49, of Garland died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 1996, in McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 20, in Evergreen Cemetery with Haskell England officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Adams was born March 4, 1947, in Paris, a daughter of Melvin Curtis and Jimmie Brooks Oyler. She graduated from Paris High School and received a degree in Visual Arts from the University of Texas at Dallas. She married Jim Adams in Paris on May 21, 1966. She was a former instructor for L.I.F.T. (an adult literacy program) and was a volunteer for the Salvation Army's Project Angel Tree in Dallas. Mrs Adams was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving are her husband; two children, Jon Steven Adams of Garland and Kristi Suzanne Adams of Kansas City, Kan.; her parents, Melvin and Jimmie Oyler of Paris; one sister and brother-in-law, Joan Karel and Richard Mooney of Spring: her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gladys and James Adams of Paris; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lanny and Linda Adams of Reno; three nieces, Ashleigh Mooney; Regina Gilbreath and Melanie Adams; two nephews, Brendon Mooney and Jeff Adams; and one great-nephew, Harley Adams.
