Johnnie Mervin Keithly was born October 18, 1917 in Sapulpa,
Oklahoma and passed away April 18, 2010 at Salem, Mo. at the age of
ninty-two years.
On October 13, 1940, Mervin Keithly and Loretta Jack were united in
marriage and to this marriage three daughters were born.
He was employed as a Postal Clerk and retired from the Salem Post
Office. He was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 55 years, the
Odd Fellow Lodge, and the VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Cardinal
Baseball, & woodworking. In the past years, he liked to bowl. He served in
the U. S. Army during World War II.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John Pulliam and Mary Bell
(Redmon) Keithly; his wife, Loretta; two sisters, Clara Slavens Currence and
Eula Mae Keithly; five brothers, Louie, Jessie, Earl, Ruie, and Andy Keithly.
Johnnie Mervin Keithly is survived by three daughters: Janice Cape and
husband Larry of Salem, Illinois, Joyce Fiebelman and husband Harold of
Rolla, Missouri and Judy Bottorff and husband Curtis of Salem, Missouri;
grandchildren: Larry D. Cape and wife Katie of Wichita, Kansas, David Cape
and wife RaeAnn of Salem, Illinois, John Cape of Salem, Illinois, Scott
Fiebelman and wife Deanna of San Ramon, California, dana Locastro fof
Brentwood, California, Bryon Craig and wife Kristi of Salem, Missouri, Brently
Craig and wife Angela of Cedar Park, Texas, Mellisa Smith and husband
Randy of Marshfield, Missouri and Jason Bottorff of Salem, Missouri; 28
great-grandchildren, 4 1/2 great-great grandchildren and one sister-in-law,
Marie Grayson.
Funeral service for Mervin Keithly was April 24, 2010 in the Wilson
Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Russ Davidson officiating. Music was by
Lisa Wulff. Serving as active pallbearers were: Larry D. Cape, David Cape,
John Cape, Byron Craig, Brent Craig, and Jason Bottorff. Honorary
pallbearers were: Scott Fiebelman, Roger Cape, Ryan Cape, Cody Craig,
Alex Bottorff, Nicholas Rasch, Harry Fiebelman, Gannon Craig, Andy Bottorff,
and Kyle Vickers. Interment was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery with Full
Military Honors.
