Martin Possin was the son of Gottfried Possin and Maria Elizabeth Wurl.
He married Sophia Anna Jaenicke in Germany in 1825.
They came to America 31 May 1848.

They had 11 known children, six of whom grew to marry:

OBITUARY
On Friday November 15th at 9 a.m. Mr. Martin Possin died at the age of 88 years and three days in the home of his son, Julius Possin, in the Town of Theresa. He was blind for 2 1/2 years but was healthy and robust. He was bedridden for only two days. He was born November 11, 1801 in Oderbruch and married Sophie Jaenicke in 1825. In 1848 the couple came to America and settled in the Town of Theresa where they remained. He leaves behind one son and seven daughters, most of whom are married. Four children died in their old home(land). His funeral was held on Sunday afternoon in his home and he was buried on St. Paul's Church Cemetery, in the Town of Theresa with Pastor W. Lessmann officiating.
