MONTICELLO - Dessie Mae Parker Chaffin, 86, died Saturday in a Putnam County hospital. Services will be held at 3p.m. today in Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jim Turbyfill and the Rev. Bill Cagle will officiate.
Mrs. Chaffin, a native of Jasper County, was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Bobby Chaffin of Macon; four daughters, Ruth Reynolds of Covington, Lucile Smallwood of Monroe, Mary Crane of Clarkston and Laverne Lloyd of Thomson; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Jordan Funeral Home of Monticello has charge of arrangements.
