Daughter of John and Rebecca (Smith) Neelis. Ann married Duncan Bell 13 Oct 1880 in Peterborough, Ont. Canada


As written in the November 19, 1920 Cheboygan Democrat:

THE GRIM REAPER CALLS ANOTHER PIONEER FROM OUR MIDST

Death entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Bell on the east side at six o'clock Monday morning claiming as its reward Mrs. bell, after a number of years of illness.

Mrs. Bell was born in Ireland in 1842 leaving her seventy-eight years old. When a child of five years, she with her parents came to Canada, coming to Cheboygan about forty years ago. About twenty years ago they moved on a farm in Munro Twp, moving back to the city about eight years ago on account of Mrs. Bell's failing health. Besides her husband,she is survived by three brothers, James, John and Joseph Neelis of this city. Funeral services were held on Thursday morning from St. Mary Church, interment being made in Calvary Cemetery. Cause of death was Chronic Nephritis and contributing cause: Apoplexy.


Per the 1910 Census she and Duncan adopted a son, John, born in 1895.
