Funeral services for Ms. Trellis Maxine Payton Stowe, 81, of Pinedale Street, were held Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Coogler and the Rev. Ed Kilgore officiating. Burial followed in Crystal Hill Cemetery.

Ms. Stowe died Sunday, June 18, 2006, at her residence.

Coggins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Stowe was a native of Upson County. She was born on June 17, 1925, to the late Thomas R. and Carrie Oliver Payton. She was a retired practical nurse and was also a homemaker. Mrs. Stowe was a member of Pritchett Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Mr. Wade (Jane) Stowe of Athens and Mr. Richard (Janet) Stowe of Dawson; a daughter, Miss Genia Stowe of Thomaston; a sister, Mrs. Burl Greene of Molena; a half-brother, Mr. Thomas R. Payton of Villa Rica; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
