PETER "PETE" GINDL
1935 - 2010

Pete Gindl, age 74, of Barrineau Park, Florida passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010. Pete was born December 11, 1935 in Pensacola, Florida. He was a graduate of The University of Auburn and an avid War Eagle fan. Pete served for 24 years on the Escambia County School Board. He was a farmer by trade and also taught for 18 years as an agriculture teacher at Tate High School. He was in the navy reserve and a life time member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Pete was on the Pensacola Interstate Fair Association Board of Directors. He was a past member of the Rotary Club where he received the Paul Harris Award.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sue Wilson Gindl; his daughters, Jeanene Hall (Tony) of Bay Springs, Florida, Lesa Morgan (Teet) of Cantonment, Florida, Nancy Perry (Foye) of Molino, Florida; his sons, Peter Gindl (Donna) of Barrineau Park, Florida and Stephen Gindl (Carmen) of Pace, Florida; grandchildren, Christa Wilson, Jimmy Morgan, Christopher Morgan, Caleb Gindl, Lacie Gindl, Rayla Gindl, Rudy Gindl and Lindsey Gindl; great-grandchildren, Jordan Wilson, Cooper Wilson and Owen Morgan.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church with Father Thomas Koyickal and Father George Thekkummattahil officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Serving, as pallbearers will be Jimmy Morgan, Christopher Morgan, Caleb Gindl, Rudy Gindl, Will Wilson and Jerry Haupert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pensacola Interstate Fair Board of Directors.
The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
The family would like to thank the staff of Covenant Hospice for their care and compassion during his illness, also, Gentiva nurses, J. B., Melissa, Sue and Leo for their care and friendship.
Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 Highway 29 South, Cantonment, is in charge of arrangements.

So long Daddy and Poppa, we will see you on the other side.
