Everett Lynn (Johnny) Helmintoller, 65, of 715 Rose Ave., Clifton Forge, died Saturday in the McGuire Veterans' Hospital in Richmond.

He was born in Covington, March 25, 1924, the son of the late James Harvey Helmintoller and Dovie Bess Helmintoller.

He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a World War II veteran, having served in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the Clifton Presbyterian Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled Americans Veterans, Alleghany Chapter 16, and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Wright Helmintoller of Clifton Forge; three daughters, Mrs. Freddie (Brenda) Vess of Wiley Ford, W. Va.; Mrs. David (Lynda) Martin of Clifton Forge; Miss Michelle D. Helmintoller of Clifton Forge; two sons, Stanley W. (Frances) Helmintoller of Evingston; George B. (Chris) Helmintoller of Hampton; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Stone of Franklin; Mrs. Reatha Snyder of Mechanicsville; Mrs. Daisy Bishop of Willis; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in the Nicely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Phillip A. Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Alleghany Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will include: Donald Beckstrom, Jim Altizer, Jim Linkenhoker, Frank Pullen, Bob Stinespring, Milton Cahoon, Scott Helm, James Wilcher and Dew Morris. The family will receive friends tonight from 7:30 to 8:30 at Nicely Funeral Home.
