James Hurley Treadwell was born on 6 Nov 1897 in Abanda(Or Milltown,as both places are correct),Chambers County,Alabama.The youngest child of Andrew Joseph (Jackson) Treadwell and Martha Ann Wheeler Treadwell.The family moved to North Lousiana near Arcadia when he was 4 years old.He attended school at Athens High School near Cross Roads,Lousiana.He went to Baptist College at Pineville,Lousiana.He graduated from Baptist College at Clinton,Mississippi with a B.S. Degree.He did some Seminary work at South Western Seminary in Fort Worth,Tarrant County,Texas
He was married to Mable Holmes in Nocona,Texas on 27 Dec 1923 at the Holmes residence at 8:30 A. M. by Rev. J.N. Hunt of Henrietta,Louisiana,who had accompanied Mr. Treadwell from Louisiana.James Hurley Treadwell was the Principal of the local High School in Plain Dealings,Louisiana.Having spent Christmas Day with his parent's and leaving by train to Nocona,Texas on the next.While waiting between train's at Dallas,Texas..they obtained a Marriage License.

He was Associate Pastor at the First Baptist Church in Yoakum,Texas for 19 years.
