Born the 7th child of 10 children of Francis Leland Treadwell and Sarah Thompson Griggs Treadwell in Abanda,Chambers County,Alabama.He was named Andrew Joseph Treadwell in the Family Bible that was in possession of his sister Mary Jane Treadwell,who married John Robert Milner.The Bible is now in possession of her grandson,John Robert Milner in Abanda,Chambers County,Alabama.He owns the "Old Treadwell Homeplace",which is still standing.The Treadwell Cemetery where Francis Leland Treadwell and his wife Sarah Thompson Griggs Treadwell are buried along with David Treadwell and his wives.In his death certificate it said Andrew Jackson Treadwell.I do not know for sure when this started but this is incorrect,but his son Mose Allen Treadwell was the informant.It must have been pretty traumatic as he could only put his grandmothers last name in.
He married Martha Ann Wheeler in Chambers County,Alabama on 20 Oct 1878.From this union was 8 children born but only 6 surviving to adulthood.
His death certificate said he died from Cirrhosis of the liver,with the contributing cause..alcohol.The reason i am told was when his wife died almost 9 years before he did..he started drinking because he missed his wife so much!...BUT one good thing came from this,three of his son's became Preacher's. AMEN!
