Survived by his wife, Kathleen J. Haire (nee Bernico); three daughters, Cheryl (John) Hiller of Manhattan, IL, Elizabeth and Sarah Haire of Joliet; three grandchildren, Andrew, Steven and Camryn Hiller; his parents, Gilbert E. and Vera (nee Lippold) Haire of Crest Hill; two sisters, Donna Gause of Woodlands, TX, and Sharon (Arthur) Stafford of Joliet. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by a daughter, Susan M. Haire (1985).
Employed by Commercial Floor Covering Associates of Lombard, IL for the past 16 years. Formerly employed with Goldblatts Department Store and J.P. Miller Artesian Well Co. Active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, serving various positions with the Church council for many years. Current Chairman of the Congregation of St. Peter Lutheran Church. Member of the church choir and St. Peter's Couples Club. Gil loved his family, his church and his church family. He was an avid fisherman and loved camping.
Lying in state at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Thursday, March 1 from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Lee M. Jany officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Wednesday from 5-9 P.M. Memorials to St. Peter Lutheran Church will be appreciated.
