Served in the confederate army with the 22nd Virginia Infantry, Company A and B. Enlisted 8-20-1862 at Salt Sulphur Springs, Monroe County, WV. Enlisted by Captain A.R. Barbee and commanded by Colonel George S. Patton. On provost Guard in Alleghany Co, VA. Deserted at Packs Ferry, WV 10-17-1862. Returned to regiment. February and March - Present (dated April 20 1864). April to October - Absent on detached service. October 31, 1864 deserted at Jackson River. Left sick at Lewisburg, WV on Mar-Apr 1863 roll.
