Donald L. Beckstrom was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin and move to Virginia before WWII. He met his lovely wife, Eloise, in Herndon, VA. They married August 11, 1944. He was a career navy man, serving during WWII, and retired after 23 years of service. He then worked for the City of Norfolk and retired from there and moved to Evington, VA in 1979. He has a son, Donald Wayne and wife, Phyllis and a daughter, Frances Ann Beckstrom Helmintoller and her husband, Stanley. Grandchildren are Scott Wayne Helmintoller and Holly Dee Helmintoller Choo (Joe). Great grandchildren are JD, Christopher Scott and Emma Ryleigh Helmintoller, all of Evington, VA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Anton Beckstrom of Rice Lake, WI; one sister, Margaret Gates and one brother Harvey Beckstrom. He is survived by one brother, William E.N. Beckstrom of Kenosha, WI; two sisters, Vivian B. Lewis of Rice Lake, WI and Alice B. Hayden of Columbus, OH and numerous other relatives and dear friends.
