Ms. Maxine Louise "Max" Kreeger, 85, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday May 1, 2001. She was born Feb. 3, 1916 to Luther James and Ethel Mae Reed Kreeger in Forsyth County. She was a 1933 graduate of Reynolds High School. She worked for Winston Printing Co. before moving to Washington D.C. to work in the Government Printing Office. She retired from there after 38 years of service. Max enjoyed crafts and travelling. She loved children and crocheted baby blankets for needy families. She was loved and missed. Preceding her in death are her parents and two sisters, Josephine "Jo" Richmond and Leah Mae "Jerry" Stevens. Surviving are a sister Norma "Bill" Cockerham of Winston-Salem; a niece, Karen Sue Bostic of Winston-Salem; and four nephews, James Wayne Stevens and his wife Tangee of Winston-Salem, Todd Stevens of Georgia, Rock Stevens and his wife Patsy of King, and Keith Richmond and his wife Kathy of Winston-Salem. Also surviving her are numerous other relatives, friends; and a special friend, Greta Humphreys. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday May 4, 2001, at Vogler's Main Street Chapel, with the Rev. Patricia Garner and the Rev. John Rights officiating. Interment will follow at the Moravian Graveyard. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Moravian Church, 220 E Sprague St. Winston-Salem NC 27127 or the charity of one's choice.
