Van Buren County Oldest Resident Passed Away Monday
Uncle Ned Harrison of near Lebanon, 98 years old, the oldest resident of Van Buren county, succumbed Monday morning at 3:30 a.m. He would have been 99 next February. He had been ailing about two weeks. Mr. Harrison was born February 28, 1841, on a farm in Illinois, the son of John and Jessie Harrison. He was married to Miss Hester Damron in Illinois in 1864 and they went to housekeeping in that state. The Harrison family made their home in Illinois until 1874 when they went to Nebraska. Later they came to Van Buren county, and settled in Lebanon vicinity which continues to be their home. The Harrison family included five children, Joseph D., deceased; James E., of Pulaski; Eugene of Wisconsin; Emma J., at home, and Birdie Wilson of Eldon. Funeral services will be held at the Lebanon church Thursday afternoon and burial will be in the Lebanon cemetery.
