He was a Methodist Circuit Rider in the MS area, and was one of the organizers of the Muddy Springs Methodist Church near McComb The church still stands today.... He migrated to TX near Huntsville.
Rev. Sandel was one of the founders of the Muddy Springs Methodist Church in Magnolia, Mississippi Membership in the Founders and Patriots of the Republic of Texas (page 179) are persons who have traced their lineage back to Isaac Tabor.

Marriage: The said Peter W. Sandel & the said Winifred Tabor were married on December 28th, 1826.
(2) The said P. W. Sandel and Liza Winborn married by the Rev. C. Phillips May 30, 1844.

The said T. G. Sandel son of the said P. W. Sandel fell at Franklin, State of Tenn. December, 1864.
Rev. P. W. Sandel departed this life on the 18th of April A.D. 1866, lived 59 years 7 months and 10 days.
Eliza Ann Vick, Wife of J. T. Vick departed this life, June 18th A.D. 1886.
James Price Vick, son of J. T. Vick and Eliza Ann Vick departed this life March 26 A.D. 1889, age 13 years 9 months and 21 days.
