South Bend – Alice Cencelewski, 85, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2010 in Sanctuary at St. Joseph's. Alice was born on July 10, 1924 in South Bend to the late Frank and Mary (Szynizek) Mrozinski. She is also preceded in death by her four brothers, Frank, Leo, John and Casimir, and by her two sisters, Hilda and Irene.

On December 24, 1943 in Venice, FL, Alice married Fred Cencelewski; he survives along with their three sons, Frederick J. Cencelewski of Fuquay Verena, NC, Timothy W. (Jeanne) Cencelewski of Granger, and James M. (Sandy) Cencelewski of South Bend; seven grandchildren, Eric and Ryan Cencelewski, Lori Johnson, Lisa Cencelewski, Jason Cencelewski, Jr., Eric Cencelewski, and Mandy; nine great-grandchildren; step-grandchild; two step-great-grandchildren; and by her sister, Harriet Stienbrunner of South Bend.

Alice retired from A. Quality Machine Shop in 1986. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 375. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, putting jigsaw puzzles together, and was a game show freak. Alice was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
