Ira Parker died at his home on North Ave Friday, and was buried Saturday at Walnut Grove cemetery from the Second Street Christian church, of which he was a member. Rev Strong officiated the service. Died at his home in this place, at 7 o'clock a.m., Friday, January 20, 1899, Ira S. Parker, aged 81 years, 3 months and 5 days. Mr. Parker was born in Mason County, Tenn., October 15, 1817. He was first married in 1850. His wife became the mother of nine children and died in 1862. In 1863 he came to Nemaha County, and the following year was again married becoming the father of ten children by his second wife. His widow and thirteen children survive him. Mr. Parker was a member of the Second Street Christian Church and was a faithful Christian. He had been seriously ill for many months, and his death had long been expected. Brownville Sun.
The subject of the above notice is the father of Dempsey Parker, who resides southwest of the city limits. He was at his father's bedside during the latter part of his sickness and at his death. The old gentlemen was well and favorable known over the entire county, having resided here for a number of years.
