He was an only child and loved spending time with his Aunt Katharine who took him to the circus and park and later in life took us all to Atlantic City, NJ. He attended Lebanon Valley College where he was the captain of the fencing team and majored in mathematics and science. When he could no longer afford college, he joined the Army and was later able to complete his education at Florence State Teachers College, now known as Univeristy of Northern Alabama.
Dad worked for Reynolds Metals Company, starting in Alabama, then was transferred to Arkansas, Virginia, then Pennsylvania. When he retired from Reynolds, he decided to purchase a sheet metal company back in Arkansas.
He was always involved in the Masons and before his death was Grand Commander of Arkansas, a position he was both proud and honored to have.
He was the father to 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. His grandson, Jared is persuing a degree in history education, his love for history would have made Dad so proud.
Dad passed away quietly with one of his favorite books in his lap.
