Annie Mae Cannaday was the daughter of Raleigh Hugh Cannaday and Martha Jane Laird. She married Mason French, the son of Monteville French and Lucinda Raymond on 20 February 1906 in Pittsburgh County, Oklahoma. The couple had at least seven children, but only four lived to adulthood:

Mason French Jr b & d 1906
Benjamin Franklin French b 1 Jan 1907
Dolly Lucille French Nation b 9 Mar 1909
Rilla Lee French Ivy b 9 May 1912
Thomas Jefferson French b 29 Jun 1914
baby girl French b 8 Jul 1916
Lewis or "Sonny Boy" French b & d 8 Mar 1918

The last baby died the same day he was born and Annie went to be with him the following day. Both were buried in the same grave, probably in the same casket. Since the family were migrant farm workers, the family really couldn't afford to pay for the burial and according to family story the burial was paid for by whoever they were working for at the time of her death. Since both are buried in the same grave and casket, we decided to only create one memorial.

At this time in 2015, we do not know where the other two children are buried and don't know where Annie's husband, Mason French are buried either.
