DALLAS — Myrtle Sheehan, 93, of Powderly died Monday, April 26, 2010.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday, April 30, at Restland-Wildwood Chapel in Dallas. Interment follows at 3:30 p.m. in Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas with Rev. Russell Hathcock officiating.

The family receives friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 29, at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas.

She was born April 29, 1916, in Lonoke, Ark., to Dorothy and Charlie Davis. She married George Sheehan Sr., June 1, 1941, who preceded her in death. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Pentecostal Church where she attended services through the years in Hugo, Okla., Paris and Dallas. She served her church through the many years with fund raising activities. In her younger years, she was an avid member of the Lamar County Home Extension Ladies Group. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and entertaining family and friends. She passed time in her later years with some oil painting and always had a sewing box with her, as she was always busily piecing quilt blocks for her quilting hobby.

She is survived by three sons, George Lynn Sheehan Jr. of Guadalajara, Mexico, Richard William Sheehan of Princeton, and Robert John Sheehan of Hickory Valley, Tenn.; four granddaughters, Tara Mitchell, Candis Shea, Lisa Simpson and Lauren Aulenbach; eight great-grandchildren, Lauren Andersen, Richard Dowling, Audrey Dowling, Sarah Dowling, Rebecca Mitchell, Caitlin Shea, Lucinda Shea and Grant Aulenbach; one great great-grandchild, Ian Andersen; one sister, Dorothy Wardlow of Powderly; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and extended family.
