He was an ordained minister with the Church of God of Cleveland, Tenn., and he served as pastor to several congregations in Georgia before his retirement. Griffin was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Donnis Brock Griffin in 1996, and a son, Reuel Griffin, in 1973.
Survivors include his daughters, Mrs. Everett Copeland (Germaine) of Roswell and Mrs. Thomas Bramlett (Beverly) of Acworth; son, Donald Brock Griffin of Griffin; brother, Fred Griffin of Quitman; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Glass of Rex World Outreach officiating. Interment will be at the Locust Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Portsbridge Hospice, 4598 Barclay Drive, Dunwoody, Ga. 30338, or Church of God Aged Ministers' Fund, North Georgia Church of God Executive Offices, 962 Parkside Walk Lane, Lawrenceville, Ga. 30043. Haisten Funeral Home of McDonough, (770) 914-8833, is handling arrangements.
