Agapit, who was called Peter, was born 24 May 1884 at St Isidore, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He was the only son of Agapit Thyot,II and Delia Demers who were married 18 October 1881 at Sts Cunegonde, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
He married Rose Emma Leblanc on 4 August 1907 at St Joseph's Church, Cohoes, Albany County, New York.
He worked as a mill hand in Cohoes in 1909, a brakeman/yardman for the Grand Trunk Railroad in 1917 at Verdun, Montreal, Canada. He was injured in a train accident about 1919. After his recovery, he moved his family back to Cohoes, where he live for the rest of his life. He was a union carpenter until he retired.
He and Emma had five children, in addition to the two children they lost in early childhood, they lost their daughter, Jeanne, who was born 13 September 1909 in Cohoes, NY, USA. She was burned in a fire at their home in Verdun, Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 26th. She died the next day, 27 February 1918. Henriette Thuot Casale and Armand R Thyot survived their parents.
Agapit loved to collect US postage stamps.
He died at home, in his sleep on the 28 March 1958. In addition to his wife and two children, he was survived by his sister Laura Thuot Cholette of Lachine, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was laid to rest on 31 March 1958 in St Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford, Saratoga, New York.
