ALLEN, Josephine Ann "Jo" - Of Flint, age 93, died Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Genesys Convalescent Center. Funeral service will be held 12 noon Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Dr. M. Jacob Kaufman officiating. Burial in Watertown Cemetery in Fostoria, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army. Visitation 1-8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Josephine was born in Fostoria, MI on April 28, 1916 and was the daughter of Lee and Ruby Fowler. She had been a resident of the Flint area most of her life. She married James Allen in 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1991. She was an avid Doll and Antique Collector. She loved gardening and bird watching. Mrs. Allen was employed by Sears for over 25 years. Surviving are two children, Robert Allen and Marilyn Allen of Grand Blanc, Jerry and wife Sherry Allen of Grand Blanc; four grandchildren, Scott (Becky), Jeff, Chad (Erica) and Sansi; four great-grandchildren, twins, Josh and Zachory Wolfin and Gabrielle Allen and Gavin Allen; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine and her brother, William. A special thank you to the staff and medical team at American House, Grand Blanc and to the staff of Genesys Convalescent Center and Hospice.
