She married Agapit Peter Thuot on 4 August 1907 at St Joseph's Church, Cohoes, Albany County, New York.
She and Peter had five children. In addition to the two children they lost in early infancy, they lost their son Agapit Clarence (1916-1917) and their daughter, Jeanne, who was born on 13 September 1909 in Cohoes, New York, USA, when she was burned in a fire at their home in Verdun, Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 26th. She died the next day, 27 February 1918. Their two surviving children, Henriette Thuot Casale and Armand R Thyot lived to adulthood.
The family lived in Cohoes until about 1913. They then moved to Lachine and then Verdun, Montreal, Quebec, Canada until 1919 when they returned to Cohoes where they spent the rest of their lives.
Emma love to travel and would return to Canada to visit with family and friends often. She enjoyed making quilts and braided rag rugs.
Her husband, Peter died on 28 March 1958. She died on 11 January 1971 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. In addition to her two children, she was survived by her sister, Florence Leblanc Dumont, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was laid to rest next to Peter on 14 Jan 1971 in St Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford, Saratoga County, New York.
