Her 3 grand kids loved her and going to her little house in Wallis. She lover to sew on her treadle sewing machine. And what a green thumb! I would take my sad plants to her for "intensive" care ! She loved her irises; now she has a great-granddaughter named Iris."

"Aunt Irene was one of the sweetest ladies ever. So kind and so gentle. When we would go to Freeport, there was ALWAYS so much food. The best ham you would ever put in your mouth. Many years after my grandmother McNutt passed away, Aunt Irene made certain that I got the hand crocheted piano cover and table cover. The table cloth is on my table in Round Rock, Texas now. Mom and I went to see her in Wallis. She was always sooooo generous."
