Glenn Ray Bruaw is the only child of Raymond Stephen and Lottie M (Stoner) Bruaw. Glenn entered the service of the United States Merchant Marine as a Deck Cadet during World War 2 and on May 19, 1942 he was "Lost at Sea" when the German submarine U-506 torpedoed and sunk his ship the SS Heredia in the Gulf of Mexico off Louisiana. He was posthumously awarded the Mariners Medal, Combat Bar, Atlantic War Zone Bar, Victory Medal and the Presidential Testimonial Letter.

His name can also be found on a monument in Paddletown Cemetery.
