Son of Frank & Lucrezia (Mollo) Donnangelo and husband of Barbara (Wescoe) Donnangelo. They were married 48 years. Mario graduated from Bethlehem Liberty High School in 1956 and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from East Stroudsburg State Teacher's College. He then attended Lehigh University where he received his Master's Degree in Education. He was employed in the Bethlehem School District until the late 1960's when he became assistant high school principal in the Salisbury School District. He retired as principal of Salisbury High School in 1993. He was also employed by Boy Scouts of America-Minsi Trails Council from 1994-2008, serving most recently as the Learning for Life Director. He was actively involved in many organizations, including the East Stroudsburg Alumni Association, of which he received the Helen Brown Honor Award in 2005; The Pennsylvania Association of Secondary School Principals (PASSP), where he served as President from 1986-1987; The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP); and Phi Delta Kappa, Charter Member at Lehigh University, where he was named Kappan of the Year in 1989. He was also an avid sports lover and dedicated his life to the education and advancement of athletic achievement. He was a member of the Bethlehem Chapter of PIAA Basketball Officials; The Colonial Interscholastic Athletic League (CIAL); The International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO); The Lehigh Valley Soccer Officials Association (LVSOA); The Lehigh Valley Soccer Hall of Fame; National Federation of State High Schools (NF HS); The National Federation Officials Association (NFOA); The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA); The National Soccer Hall of Fame (NSHOF), inducted in 1992; The Northampton County Soccer Officials Association; The Pennsylvania State Athletic Directors Association (PSADA); The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) where he served as a soccer rules interpreter for many years; and the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association (NISOA), where he served as President from 1983-1984 and Associate Executive Director since 1991. As a life-long resident of Fountain Hill, Mario was the Fountain Hill Playground supervisor from 1961-1975, and later served on the Playground Board of Directors from 1975-1978. He was a member of the Boys Club Fraternity and Alumni Association, and was a member of their Board of Directors from 1979-1995; He was also a member of UNICO, National Italian-American Service Organization, The Good Fellows and Regular Fellows Social Clubs. He loved spending time with family and friends at Starter's Riverport and at Coca-Cola Park where he was a Lehigh Valley Ironpigs season ticketholder.
