Owned property on Gravios Rd adjascent to Grants farm and Adoph Busch - later to be famous for beer

John Bingham came to St. Louis about 1820 and bought a small piece of land. He continued to buy land throuought the years and speculated in mines. The street Bingham Ave was named after him. His farm was located on Gravios Rd, adjacent to the famous Grant's farm of today, home of the Budweiser horses. He married Rebecca Britton in Philidelphia and began a family moving to St Louis shortly after. I believe he served in the War of 1812, however waiting for proof. John Bingham lived next door to Ulyssis S Grant and wife Julia Dent who lived at famous Grant Farm. John Bingham's son William L named his child with middle name "Grant"

We believe he served in the war of 1812, however nothing proven to date.

See obituary for Virginia Bingham below that boasted the family name.

He left 5 living children per his will in 1864. See links at bottom.
Slaves also included for anyone seeking their heritage.

Children born and not accounted for per a bible record.
Rebecca Bingham (1825-unk)
Paul L Bingham (1830-1839)

He also left in 1864 the following slaves to be emancipated in 1864: This family took on the surname Brown and can be found in the census thereafter.
