Brent spent much of his childhood at Carolina Beach, surfing, fishing, socializing, and forming many lifelong friendships. He also enjoyed riding dirt bikes. He was affectionately known by a few as 'Brently', and he knew how to enjoy life. Full of wisdom and wit, Brent always seem to be smiling. In addition, he was a kind and courteous young man who would be just as excited to be hanging out with a close friend as he was to see an old friend he hadn't seen in years. He is survived by his father, Edward E. Gaskin and wife Bonnie; mother, Alesia H. Gaskin; brother, Grant Gaskin; sisters, Taylor Gaskin and Angel Cribb; grandparents, Lavern and Frances Gaskin and Steve Herring. His grandmother, Patricia Perkins, preceded him in death. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and a multitude of friends.

LIFE
Love and hate, truth and lies, live and die
If you are to love
Love the ones who love you
If you are to hate
Hate negative
If you tell the truth
Tell everything
If you lie
Lie in the arms of your loved one
If you live
Live to the fullest
If you must die
Die happy
