Veteran of World War II. Sergeant with the 351st Bomber Squadron, 100th Bombardment Group, Heavy. While returning from a bombing mission to Berlin on March 8, 1944, with the Norman L Chapman crew, the aircraft developed mechanical problems and all ten crewmembers were forced to bail out.
