Howard Homer Baker was born in Olive Twp, Meigs county, Ohio. He came from large family of siblings. His parents are Martin Baker & Manilla Isabelle McDole all from Ohio. He met and married a Virginia Sams and they had a daughter Betty Jean Baker and divorced after Betty's birth. After that he was in Athens County, Ohio where it appears he became involved with a married woman who had children Minnie Rutters. Her husband left her and there is a record of their marriage, but is was very brief. There was a son born, who was rejected by heer husband and Howard listed the boy as Howard Baker Jr. in the census. After the boy died of an illness he left her and left Ohio and poverty of Ohio to Bell Gardens, Calif and met and married his 3nd wife Marian Catherine Hicks Wright in Los Angeles County, CA. She was a widow with two children from her 1st marriage. She gave birth to Catherine Baker (married Steele) & Howard Martin Baker. They remained married till about 1960 then divorced. Howard H. Baker continued to live in Bell Gardens for a number of years then moved to Fort Worth, Texas where he died. His girlfriend laid a slab of concrete on his grave as a marker with his name and 1906 (which is wrong) and 1966 his death year. His son Howard Jr. wasn't permitted to go to the funeral with his sister. Howard his son didn't know for years where he was laid to rest, till we found it on Find-a-grave where a very kind and thoughtful person Julane post the photo of the grave. We appreciate so much all the work of volunteers do is posting the resting places of our loved ones.

Finding his grave all these years later means everything to him.
