Miss Louise Duff Montgomery was born December 28, 1897, in Joplin.

Her Father, Charles Harry Montgomery, was the first Prosecuting Attorney in Joplin in the 1860's and later a Lawyer. Her Mother was Allie Onnie Foster Montgomery.

Louise was married to John Wallace Carpenter in the Twenties. To that union was an only child born, Gloria Ann Carpenter. July 27th, 1927.

The union to that marriage was broken and Louise Duff (Montgomery) Carpenter and John Wallace Carpenter were divorced.

On May 2, 1950 Everett Cheetham and Louise Carpenter were united in Marriage in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Louise was a music teacher, for over 50 years also performed with her Sister Stella on Melodie Matinee, she also played with Local bands, was a Choir Director for the Church at 32nd and Wall Avenue, and much more until illness caused her retirement.

Louise passed from this Earth to Heaven on October 14th, 1976 at the age of 78.

Survivors include her Husband; one Daughter, Mrs. Gloria Ann (Carpenter) Mitchell, 2901 Connecticut Avenue; one Sister, Mrs. Stella Marie Reeves, Anaheim, California; Five Grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. The Rev. David C. Patrick will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Joplin.

The family will receive friends for 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Paulbearers will be R.E. Dunn, Benny Mitchell, Joe Burtrum Jr., George Baumeister, Herbert Schade and Theo Fish.
