Obituary from The Twin Valley Times for August 7, 1946:
"Last rites for Mrs. Hans Halvorson, whose death was mentioned in our last issue, took place Saturday afternoon from the home in Twin Valley and Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. A. C. Odden officiated. Among those present at the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Halvorson and Mrs. Clara Halvorson and son Clarence, of Minneapolis; Clarence A. Halvorson of Minneapolis; Mrs. Anna Osten and son Elmer of Detroit Lakes; Mr. and Mrs. Hans Holmen of Ulen; Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Dahlen of Kindred, N.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hilmo of Fargo; and T. T. Braaten of Ada. A sister and two brothers were unable to attend, due to illness. Mrs. Halvorson, whose maiden name was Anna Marie Hall, was born August 20, 1864, in Fillmore County. She was united in marriage to Hans Halvorson September 22, 1882, by Pastor Per Stromme. They made their home on a farm in Home Lake Township following their marriage and resided there until moving to Twin Valley twenty years ago. Surviving Mrs. Halvorson are her husband; four children, Mrs. Ward E. Cowle (Clara), Minneapolis; Mrs. A. W. Warner (Worner), (Mabel), Fergus Falls; Edwin Halvorson, Eugene, Oregon; Adolph Halvorson, at home. One son preceded her in death August 28, 1902. Also left to mourn her departure are four grandchildren, Sgt. Allan W. Halvorson, Miami, Florida; Clarisa and Donald Halvorson, Twin Valley; Mrs. Murrel Maugh, Eugene, OR; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Will Hall, Fountain, MN, and Edward Hall, Stewartville, Minn.; and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Johnson of Wheeler, Wis., and Clara Hall of St. Paul."
