Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of George I. Parrish, age 94, of Midville, GA on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at the Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home after a long illness.
Funeral services are Tuesday, April 6th, at 11 AM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tony Smith officiating.
Interment will be in the Union Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery near Midville, GA.
The family will receive friends at Durden-Hudson Funeral Home Tuesday morning from 9AM until service time.
Mr. Parrish, a lifelong resident of Emanuel County, was the son of the late Sarah P. Cowell and Sam Parrish. He was a retired Building Contractor and Farmer. He was also predeceased by his wife, Bernice Sherrod Parrish, sisters Ruth Silman, Thelma Drake and Sarah Lynn Moore. He was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church where he had served on the Official Board and was a former Sunday school teacher. He was active in the Blue Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite and Royal Arch.
