Marvin H. Childs, 70, of Kingston, died Friday, January 2, 2009 in his home with his family at his side. He was born August 23, 1938 in Akron to Calvin and Vera (Turner) Childs. He married Phyllis Ann Marlow November 14, 1958 in Akron.
Marvin was a successful lifelong dairy farmer. He served his Lord as a member of Dayton Center Church, and loved reading his Bible. Marvin's family was very important to him. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children: Dale (Anna) Childs of Kingston, Cindy (Wayne) Heckman of Tucson, AZ, Beth (Timothy) Lovelace of Burton; grandchildren: Nathan (Kristin) Childs, Kimberly Childs, Rebekah Childs, Craig Heckman, Ryan Heckman, Stephen Lovelace, Matthew Lovelace; brothers: Armond (Nellie) Childs of Mayville, Richard (Linda) Childs of Caro; brother-in-law, John (Lorna) Aulbert of Akron. He is preceded in death by his sister, Arlene Aulbert.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2009 in Dayton Center Church with Rev. Timothy R. Decker officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Childs will be Nathan Childs, Craig Heckman, Ryan Heckman, Stephen Lovelace, Matthew Lovelace and Richard D'Arcy. Honorary pallbearers are: Kimberly Childs, Rebekah Childs, Kristen Childs and Sarah Langmaid. Memorials may be made to Dayton Center Church, American Cancer Society or Gideon's International.
